PLATTSMOUTH, Neb. (AP) -- An FBI agent says a crime scene investigator on trial for evidence tampering wasn't the only one with access and the ability to misuse evidence in a 2006 double-murder case.
Gina Palokangas testified Thursday in the state trial of David Kofoed about her investigation into the allegations against him. He's accused of planting a speck of a victim's blood to bolster a case against two suspects. He was acquitted on federal charges last year.
Prosecutors have argued Kofoed used a victim's bloody shirt or swabs containing DNA to make it seem blood was in a car linked to two men who were charged in the slayings. They were later cleared.
Kofoed's attorney argues accidental cross-contamination explains how blood got in the car.
