SIOUX CITY, Iowa (AP) — An attorney for a Sioux City man accused in the death of his baby wants the trial delayed, citing scheduling issues.
Paul Hill is charged with child endangerment in the death of his 4-month-old daughter, Tryniti, in February 2009. His trial is set for March 30 in Woodbury County.
Hill’s attorney, Mike Williams, on Thursday said he asked for a delay because he has another trial starting next Tuesday, and it could last longer than expected. He also cited a court furlough on April 2.
Williams’ request is expected to be taken up at a hearing on Friday.
Police say Hill called 911, saying his daughter wasn’t breathing. She died at a hospital. Police say the child suffered multiple injuries.
