Residents of Springview may have felt the earth move under their feet Friday evening.
A weak earthquake occurred in Keya Paha County, in far north-central Nebraska, about 8:10 p.m. Friday, according to the National Weather Service. The quake was confirmed by the United States Geological Survey.
A preliminary estimate of the quake’s power put it at a magnitude of 2.6. It was centered about 4 miles northwest of town and about 3 miles beneath the earth’s surface.
There were no immediate reports of damage.
