It's official: Spring has arrived in the Midlands.

Friday may have looked anything but springlike. But the storm that brought snow during the afternoon and evening and created some slick driving conditions Friday night and early Saturday morning has moved south, out of Nebraska and western Iowa.

Travel conditions improved Saturday for Husker fans heading to this weekend's first-round matchup game for the NCAA women's basketball tournament in Minneapolis.

According to Nebraska State Patrol officials, Interstate 80 in eastern Nebraska had a few icy spots on Saturday morning, but for the most part the Interstate was dry.

Officials with the Iowa State Patrol said I-35 north of Des Moines is “partially covered with slush.”

Drivers are urged to use caution when roads are wet.
