In high school, she was a cute and cool girl in our social group who dated and attended football games, dances and parties. Then she entered a convent, became a nun and eventually was elected president of the 430-member Sisters of Charity of Cincinnati.
I called Sister Barbara Hagedorn on Friday because her name appears on a widely circulated document of national interest — a letter urging Congress to pass the Senate health care bill.
