Since the Colonial days, America's people have been predominantly white. The most recent census, in 2000, showed that white Americans made up 75 percent of the population. But since this country's earliest days, there have been large groups of non-white people. In this section, you will learn more about the contributions these groups have made to life in America. In the process, you can learn a little about your own cultural heritage and how you and other Americans fit into the big picture - together.
