Nebraska is the last member of the Big 12 to launch a project to improve its basketball facilities, according to Athletic Director Tom Osborne. Here are some recent examples of basketball facility expansions in the region.
Iowa State
$8 million
Sukup Basketball Complex opened in 2009. Practice floors, locker rooms and offices for men's and women's teams, shared film screening room and weight room. Financed with private donations.
University of Iowa
$47 million
Expansion of Carver-Hawkeye Arena completion anticipated in 2011. Adding practice facilities for men's and women's basketball and volleyball programs, updating and expanding other sports' facilities and fan amenities. Financed with private contributions and premium seating sales.
Missouri
$75 million
Mizzou Arena opened in 2004. 15,000-seat arena and basketball headquarters. Includes skyboxes and club seating. Financed with state revenue bonds and private contributions.
