Nebraska Lutheran Outdoor Ministries provides summer camping programs to more than 3,000 children each summer and serves more than 15,000 retreat and conference participants of all ages annually on behalf of the Nebraska Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
One of its camps, Carol Joy Holling Camp, sits on 317 acres near Ashland, Neb., and serves nearly 1,600 campers each summer. In addition, the camp offers family programs and hosts retreat groups throughout the year.
The summer camp has five program sites, each designed for a different age group. Housing for campers ranges from tepees to tents to bunkhouses. All campers get experience in swimming, boating, fishing, hiking, crafts and high-ropes courses.
