260 earn St. Mary diplomas

Omaha's College of St. Mary presented diplomas to about 260 spring graduates Sunday in ceremonies at the Qwest Center Omaha.

The commencement address was delivered by Sister Marilyn Lacey, founding director of Mercy Beyond Borders. The nonprofit organization, based in Santa Clara, Calif., partners with displaced women and girls in southern Sudan to address their extreme poverty through education, entrepreneurship and health care.

Lacey also was presented with an honorary doctorate of humane letters from the college.
