7:03 p.m.: Former Nebraska great Grant Wistrom will be in South Bend, Ind., on July 16 and 17 for his enshrinement into the College Football Hall of Fame.
A total of 16 former Football Bowl Subdivision players will take part in the weekend festival, which includes a golf outing, block party, parade, pep rally and autograph session before the enshrinement dinner and show. Among others on the list are former Iowa linebacker Larry Station, an Omaha Central graduate, and Heisman Trophy winners Tim Brown of Notre Dame and Gino Torretta of Miami, Fla.
Wistrom was an All-American in both 1996 and '97 as Nebraska won national championships, and also played as a freshman on the Huskers' title team in 1994. The defensive end from Webb City, Mo., won the Lombardi Award as a senior.
Wistrom also played nine NFL seasons split between St. Louis and Seattle, appearing in three Super Bowls, before retiring three years ago.
Wistrom was selected to the College Football Hall of Fame last summer and took part in the induction ceremony last December. Wistrom will be the first Husker enshrined since Mike Rozier in 2006, and NU will now be represented by 14 former players and six former coaches in the College Football Hall of Fame.
