MIRAMAR, Fla. — Nebraska high jumper Paul Hamilton won the high jump Sunday at the NACAC Under-23 track and field championships, a meet that drew competitors from 32 nations in North America, Central America and the Caribbean.
Hamilton cleared 7 feet, 3 ¾ inches, defeating U.S. teammate Ricky Robertson of Ole Miss.
Hamilton, from Sidney, Neb., is a three-time Big 12 champion and two-time All-American at Nebraska.
He will be a senior next season.
Husker teammate Chris Phipps from Paterson, N.J., finished second in the long jump at 25-7¼.
