It's time for some sun and a day of good indie music.

But you don't have to travel to Chicago or New York or anywhere else. It's the Maha Music Festival, and it's right in our backyard at the Lewis & Clark Landing.

Organizers have racked up a slew of talent for the second annual fest.

Indie rock fans will be flocking to the riverfront on Saturday to see the likes of Spoon, Superchunk, the Faint, Ben Kweller and plenty of others.

The answers to all of your Maha Music Festival questions are here, including schedules, information, afterparty details and interviews with several of the main-stage bands.

» Tips: It's an all-day outdoor concert, so bring some sunscreen. Hats, sunglasses and other protection are also encouraged. And, as with any festival, wear comfortable shoes since you'll be walking and standing a lot.

» Maha will go on rain or shine. No refunds.

» You may come and go as long as you have your ticket stub, but there is no re-entry after 8 p.m.

» Food will be available from Mangia Italiana (Italian), McKenna's (BBQ), the Parthenon (Greek), eCreamery (gourmet ice cream), Pink Shugar (gourmet cotton candy). Beverages will include Budweiser, Bud Light, Corona, Tallgrass IPA, Tallgrass Buffalo Sweat, Coca-Cola, Coke Zero, Sprite and Monster Energy.

Afterparties

Maha's last note is scheduled for 11 p.m. With three more hours until the local rock clubs close down, what should you do? Both the Waiting Room Lounge and Slowdown are hosting afterparties.

It's True, a local band and Maha main-stage band, will play its last-ever performance at the Waiting Room after Maha is over. Mitch Gettman also performs at the free show.

Over at Slowdown, they're hosting GOOmaha. The dance party starts at 10 p.m. and is free with your Maha ticket stub, $5 without one.

Coming this weekend

On Saturday, Kevin Coffey will blog and post photos on his blog, Rock Candy, during the show and from the afterparties. Check Rock Candy for updates.

On Sunday, read a review of the fest in The World-Herald and on Omaha.com.
