COUNCIL BLUFFS — Both parents were arrested on suspicion of child endangerment after a 1-year-old child allegedly ingested methamphetamine.
Brandon Boyd, 26, and Lynnette Adams, 29, both of Council Bluffs were arrested at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday after police took the child into protective custody.
Council Bluffs Police Sgt. Chad Meyers said Boyd and Adams took the child to Jennie Edmundson Hospital because he was “behaving abnormally.”
Hospital staff notified police after the child screened positive for amphetamines in his system.
Meyers said both parents admitted to using meth, but they were uncertain how the child ingested it.
Boyd and Adams were transported to Pottawattamie County Jail and held on $5,000 bail.
