Counselors on duty after death

Crisis counselors will be available Thursday and Friday for those who knew Carla Beardmore-Harding, a longtime Westside High School substance abuse counselor, who died Tuesday.

She had formed close bonds with students and families, maintaining those ties even after the students left Westside, said Pat Hutchings, Westside principal.

The counselors will help students, families and staff members cope with Beardmore-Harding’s death.

They will be located at the high school, 8701 Pacific St., and at the Westside Career Center, 3534 S. 108th St., from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.

Beardmore-Harding, 65, retired in May after 15 years at Westside, Hutchings said.
