Shot of the day
• Ron Whittaker, 471-yard 15th hole: His hole-out from the fairway for an eagle got him to 15 under. With a birdie on 17, Whittaker is among those one off the lead.
Players to watch
• Brandon Crick, 9:24 a.m.: To grab a top-25 finish and get into the field next week in Springfield, Mo., the pride of Heritage Hills in McCook, Neb., must shoot his low round of the tournament and get into the mid-60s.
• A.J. Elgert, 10:40 a.m.: The pro from Lincoln is a stronger candidate for the top 25. A repeat of his second-round 64 would work nicely.
• Jason Gore, 11:20 a.m.: Don't rule him out. After all, Mr. 59 knows how to go low here. And he was involved in the last playoff, too.
• Jon Mills, 12:30 p.m.: There's a 60 on the Canadian's Omaha résumé — he did it in the 2005 second round.
• Scott Gutschewski, 12:40 p.m.: Think that there might be a large gallery for this Husker and Paul Claxton after their matching 62s on Saturday?
• James Hahn, 12:50 p.m.: A win locks up a PGA Tour card for this 28-year-old tour rookie from South Korea.
• Kevin Chappell, 12:50 p.m.: Big things are predicted for the former NCAA champion from UCLA already bound for the 2011 PGA Tour.
