Omaha caught up on trash collection

Deffenbaugh, the City of Omaha's residential garbage, yardwaste and recycling collection contractor, is projecting that solid waste collection will be caught up and Tuesday's collections will be completed on schedule by 7 p.m.. Residents in the Monday or Tuesday area that have not been collected by 7 p.m. should report the missed collection to the City's Solid Waste Hotline, 444-5238, at that time.

Because the extreme heat conditions are expected to continue much of this week, collection delays this week remain possible. Residents are advised to monitor local news reports for updates.

Residents wishing to be notified directly by e-mail regarding Omaha solid waste collection schedule changes can sign up for the service at www.wasteline.org/join.htm.

Residents may contact the 24-hour solid waste collection line at 444-5238 for information and to report service related issues.
