8:50 p.m.: Lots of talk from offensive coordinator Shawn Watson Tuesday night on the Nebraska quarterback. But a review of his 10-minute, post-practice session with the media revealed this: Watson didn’t say much of anything to help uncover the mystery of Nebraska’s quarterback position.
He’s getting good at that. So is coach Bo Pelini
From Watson: “We’ve discussed it every day, Don’t think that we don’t talk about it. We do. Bo and I have a plan, but I’m not going to tell you.”
And this: “You’d have to kill us to get it out of us. We’re not going to tell you.”
OK, got it.
But why all the secrecy? Really, it’s not about keeping information from Western Kentucky, which has lost 20 straight games. Watson and Pelini tried to explain. Read about it Wednesday in The World-Herald.
Watson said the Huskers practiced well Tuesday as their final week of preparation for the season nears a halfway point.
“As you get closer, you see the guys get a little nervous,” he said. “It doesn’t matter. It’s the first game. We’ve got a lot of guys getting prepared to play for the first time.”
