5:30 p.m.: Defensive coordinator Carl Pelini lightened the mood Tuesday at Nebraska’s press conference when asked if he believes his younger brother, coach Bo Pelini, has felt more stress this year because of the high expectations that surround the Huskers.
“Yeah,” Carl deadpanned, “because he’s always very relaxed and not a lot of stress going on.”
Bo Pelini, you may have noticed, is high stress nearly all the time. This year’s no different.
“We operate in that culture where it’s always high stress, and we always feel a lot of pressure,” Carl Pelini said. “He’s always putting more pressure on us, (but) probably no more than we put on ourselves. But as long as you focus on today. I don’t give two thoughts about what our predictions are what people think we’re going to be. All I’m worrying about today is how we’re going to practice this afternoon.”
