9:27 a.m.: All this talk about quarterbacks the past four weeks has maybe made some forget what Nebraska might try to hang its hat on offensively this season.
The run game.
"That is the first thing we want to be able to do, run the football," NU coach Bo Pelini said Tuesday. "You have to be able to run the football consistently to win championships. I firmly believe that. I also believe that you have to be multiple. You have to be able to execute in all facets of the game.
"If anybody is overlooking the running game, I promise you it is not in the offices downstairs. That is something that is always going to be an emphasis with us."
The Huskers struggled with the consistency of it last year. That came from both problems with the offensive line and injuries that affected I-backs Roy Helu and Rex Burkhead, not to mention Quentin Castille being removed from the team just before the season started.
With Helu, Burkhead and Dontrayevous Robinson, the Huskers should be able to improve on their averages last season of 147.1 rushing yards per game and 4.0 per carry.
"When you got Rex and Roy and Tray back there, that's an unbelievable trio," NU receiver Niles Paul said. "One of the best in the Big 12."
