    Bluejays hire ex-Husker Moore

Creighton coach Ed Servais has added Fremont native and former Nebraska baseball player Craig Moore to his staff.

Moore replaces Brent Alwine, who is now an assistant coach at Western Michigan.

Since leaving Nebraska, Moore spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Tennessee Tech before serving as the head coach the past four seasons at West Texas College in Snyder, Texas.

“I really like the fact that Craig has head coaching experience,’’ Servais said. “I also enjoyed getting to know him during the hiring process, and I think he has the ability to do a lot of good things for our program.’’

Moore will work primarily with the outfielders and the hitters, and he could coach third base for the Bluejays. Servais has wanted to give up that duty to move to the dugout, where he believes that he can do a better job of managing the game.

Moore played for Nebraska from 1996 to 1999 and was a member of the Huskers’ 1999 Big 12 championship team.
