Mountain lion spotted again

WORLD-HERALD NEWS SERVICE

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. -- An elusive mountain lion was sighted for possibly a third time Thursday evening just north of Highway 26.

A resident said he thought he saw a deer in the field behind his house. After looking through his binoculars at the animal, he realized it was a mountain lion and called officials.

Police and conservation officers arrived but the cat, which the resident described as four feet long and golden in color, was not found.

It marked the third possible sighting of the cougar in the area in the past two weeks. Officials say that the sightings are credible but have not been confirmed.
