9:30 p.m.: It was a good day all around for the Huskers, who celebrated their day off school with an excellent practice, according to coach Bo Pelini.
"We had good tempo," Pelini said. "A good, crisp practice. I thought we made a step in the right direction."
On his review of film from Nebraska's 49-10 win Saturday over Western Kentucky, Pelini said: "There's a lot of things I liked on film, but there's a lot of things we need to get corrected, too. There wasn't a guy out there who played perfect. But there wasn't anybody who went out there and laid an egg, either."
Right tackle Marcel Jones returned to practice after missing the opener. Defensive end Cameron Meredith is out with a shoulder injury suffered Saturday, though Pelini said it would not be a long-term problem. Defensive tackle Chase Rome also remained out with an elbow injury.
