A shooting early Wednesday grew out of a dispute between the victim, his former girlfriend and her current boyfriend.
Omaha police said Marcus Hardin, 39, was at his former girlfriend's home near Grande Avenue and 60th Street. A dispute developed, and Hardin got into his car to leave, police said.
As he left, he told investigators, he heard gunshots. While driving east on Ames Avenue near Fontenelle Boulevard, he realized he had been shot.
Hardin called 911 just before 4 a.m. and was taken to the University of Nebraska Medical Center in critical condition. Police said his injuries were not considered life threatening.
No arrests have been reported.
