Good music and a good cause.
That’s the aim Saturday night at the Waiting Room Lounge. Five local bands will play a benefit for Habitat for Humanity, the group that builds and rehabilitates houses for those who need them most.
In case you haven’t heard of the groups performing, here’s what you’ll find from each at this weekend’s benefit:
Satchel Grande — The funkiest dudes in town made funkier with neckties and amazing facial hair.
Midwest Dilemma — Justin Lamoureux is one of the best songwriters in town and his band sometimes features about 20 musicians. No, more like a half dozen or so, but it seems like a lot.
The 9’s — More funkiness, as well as soul and pop, reigns supreme in this group.
Brad Hoshaw And The Seven Deadlies — No longer seven of them, Hoshaw’s band still packs a punch. The full band makes for a rocking version of Hoshaw’s acoustic tunes.
The Half Hearts — This female-fronted band hails from Minneapolis (and three other cities, according to its MySpace).
