Ethan Finlay and Renae Sinkler were announced as Creighton's athletes of the year at the school's annual hall of fame banquet Monday night at the DoubleTree Hotel.
Finlay earned second-team All-America honors after leading Creighton back to the NCAA soccer tournament last fall. Sinkler capped a sterling softball career last spring by becoming just the fourth two-time winner of the Missouri Valley player of the year award.
Brian Holt, a goalkeeper on the men's soccer team, and Claire Zach, a midfielder-defender on the women's soccer team, were presented with the Reinert scholar-athlete awards.
The men's soccer team and the women's volleyball team were selected the teams of the year.
Former Creighton soccer coach Bob Warming, former Bluejay pitcher Alan Benes and former women's basketball player Kris Kugel Huss were inducted into the hall of fame.
