“All local preparations are complete and now we're in the sit and wait mode,'' said John Benson, spokesman for the Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division in Des Moines.
“We're waiting for the (Army) Corps of Engineers to open the gates at Gavins Point Dam to 150,000 cubic feet per second and then we'll spend two days watching as that bubble moves down the state and see how things hold up under that pressure.''
