Omahan killed in crash

A 24-year-old Omaha man was killed in a one-vehicle traffic accident late Thursday, Omaha police said.

Authorities said Joshua C. Holloway III was killed when his vehicle struck a pole near 156th and Q Streets about 11:20 p.m.

A witness told police that near 144th and Q Streets, a gray 2001 Hyundai Elantra struck a vehicle next to him and continued westbound at a high rate of speed.

At 156th and Q, the witness said, the Hyundai left the roadway, striking a metal guide wire and then a wooden power pole.

The driver was ejected from the car. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Authorities said power was knocked out in the area for a few hours.

Police said the accident remains under investigation. They also said an autopsy was to be performed Friday.
