Omaha scouting report: The 23-12-2 Lancers enter week 19 with their biggest lead of the season — a four-point advantage over second-place Lincoln — in the USHL’s Western Conference. … The Jan. 28 victory over Des Moines was Omaha’s fourth consecutive road win, and after knocking off Fargo 24 hours later, the Lancers finished the December-January grind with a record of 14-4. … By finishing 8-2 in January, the Lancers had their most successful month since going 9-2 in November 2009. … Nolan Zajac leads the league’s defensemen with 25 points. Forward Casey Bailey is eighth in goals scored with 18, and forward Jimmy Murray is tied for sixth with 40 points, including a league-leading 30 assists. ... The Lancers have scored 14 power-play goals in their past nine games with an efficiency rating of .326 (14 of 43). Fargo scouting report: The 19-15-3 Force had their nine-game winning streak snapped last weekend and lost two of three games, including Sunday’s 6-2 loss to Omaha. That’s the most goals Fargo had surrendered in a game since an 8-3 loss in Lincoln on Nov. 5. … Fargo has compiled a 10-8-1 record at home this season. … Omaha is 3-1-1 against the Force, who have scored just two power-play goals against the Lancers in 17 attempts this season. But the Lancers haven’t had much success against Fargo, going just 2-for-23 (.087). Sioux City scouting report: The 15-22-3 Musketeers are 7-10 at home and have been outscored 57-53 in those games. … Sioux City is 1-3 against Omaha this season and, like Fargo, the Musketeers have scored just twice on the power play. … The Musketeers are fifth in penalty kills in the 16-team league but have given up five goals in 17 chances to the Lancers in their first four meetings. … Forwards Brad Robbins and David Goodwin lead Sioux City with 32 points apiece. — Steve Beideck
