Easier path for 'dangerous' dogs

The Omaha City Council voted 7-0 Tuesday to change the city's regulations on potentially dangerous animals.

The ordinance, as written, stipulated that owners needed to pay $200 as part of a process to remove the label from the animal's record.

Under the changes approved Tuesday, the potentially dangerous animal label would be removed automatically after two years of good behavior.

The Nebraska Humane Society supported the changes.
