Morningside claims GPAC title

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Morningside wrapped up the Great Plains Athletic Conference wrestling championship with a 42-3 win over rival Briar Cliff on Wednesday.

The Mustangs finished their dual season with a 9-6 record, including a 6-0 mark in the GPAC. Morningside won the GPAC crown for the second year in a row.

There will be no GPAC tournament this year.

Morningside will host the NAIA North Qualifier on Feb.18 at the Hindman Hobbs Center starting at 9 a.m.

The NAIA national wrestling championships are in Des Moines from March 1 to 3.
