Boys and girls 1-meter diving champions were crowned Thursday at two of the state's four conference swimming and diving meets.
Defending state champion Erik Gustafson of Lincoln Southeast bettered a 21-year-old meet record with a score of 488.85 to win the Heartland Athletic Conference boys title. The previous record of 488.50 points was set by Kevin McMahon of Fremont.
Lincoln Southwest senior Nicole Schwery won the HAC girls title at Southeast with an 11-dive total of 439.25, her highest score of the season.
In the Metro Conference meet at Millard South, Kory Swarbrick of Bellevue West won the boys title with his season-best score of 401.55. Elyse Brouillette of Omaha Marian won the girls competition by scoring 415.55 points.
