SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. — An investigation continues in the November death of a 19-year-old Western Nebraska Community College student.

Toxicology results in the death of Christopher J. ("C.J.") Kohut of Gering have been returned and indicate that multiple drugs were in the young man's system, Scottsbluff Police Capt. Brian Wasson said. The manner of death has officially been classified as an accidental overdose.

Kohut was found unresponsive Nov. 30 in a dormitory room.

The occupants of the room initially believed that he was sleeping. They summoned help when they were unable to rouse him.

Several drugs were in Kohut's system, but Wasson declined to release which drugs because of the ongoing investigation.

There was no medical reason for him to be taking any of the drugs that were identified in toxicology tests, Wasson said.
