A 16-year-old boy injured after his car was crushed between two pickup trucks near 156th and Harrison Streets has been identified.
Paul Ivey of Millard was upgraded to stable condition Monday at the Nebraska Medical Center, said Sarpy County Sheriff's Lt. Russ Zeeb. He was hospitalized with critical injuries Sunday evening.
Ivey, a student at Millard South High School, was headed north on 156th Street in a Honda and had stopped to turn at Gertrude Street about 7:20 p.m., the lieutenant said. One of the pickups struck the car from behind, pushing it into the southbound lane, where the other pickup hit it head on.
“So the car was kind of sandwiched between the two trucks,” he said.
There were five people in the two pickups, but no one reported any injuries.
The Sarpy County Attorney's Office was expected to review the crash for any possible charges after the Sheriff's Office completed its investigation.
