2 die in Iowa crash

MOORLAND, Iowa (AP) — Two people have been killed and at least four people have been injured in a collision in northern Iowa.

The Webster County sheriff’s department said the accident occurred a little before 6 p.m. Monday about one mile west of Moorland. The pickup and car collided on a bridge crossing a ditch.

The driver and a passenger in the truck were killed. Three other passengers were injured, as was at least one of the people in the car. They were taken to Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge.

The names of those involved have not been released.

The roadway was icy, but the Iowa State Patrol said it was unclear whether that played a role in the accident.
