Check out heart, vascular health
A Heart & Vascular Health Fair will be open from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday in the Bergan Mercy Pavilion. The fair is free, but some of the screenings have a charge.
The cardiovascular risk, general health and sleep assessments, and nutrition counseling are free. So are the presentations: "Irregular Heartbeat — Who's at Risk and How Is It Treated?" at 8 a.m.; "Newer Nonsurgical Treatment Options in Cardiovascular Disease," 8:45 a.m.; "New Treatments Available in Cardiac Valve Disease," 9:30 a.m.; and "Why Is Calling 911 Vital With Chest Pain?" 10:15 a.m.
Screening packages that still are open are the full cholesterol panel with blood sugar check, $15, and the EKG, $15.
Register for those two packages by calling 800-ALEGENT.
