Scouting Omaha: The Lancers (25-13-3) wrap up their longest homestand of the season with a pair of games against the only teams in the 16-team USHL they have yet to play — Cedar Rapids and Indiana. The Eastern Conference foes are making their only trips to Omaha this season, and this is the only time the Lancers and Ice will meet this season; the Lancers make a trip to Cedar Rapids March 10. ... Six of the Lancers' past nine games have been decided by one goal. Omaha is 11-3-3 in one-goal games this season. ... Forward Jimmy Murray now is tied for third in the league with 48 points (14 goals, 34 assists) and is in the midst of a seven-game scoring streak in which he's had six goals and six assists. ... Nolan Zajac continues to lead all USHL defensemen in scoring with 29 points. Zajac will face his former team (Cedar Rapids) for the first time since being traded in October.
Scouting Cedar Rapids: The RoughRiders (17-15-8) are in fifth place in the Eastern Conference with 42 standings points. ... Forward Nick Saracino leads Cedar Rapids with 37 points, and 17 of those (six goals, 11 assists) have come in the past eight games. ... Former Lancer Nathan Widman is returning to the Civic for the first time since he was traded to the RoughRiders. Widman has scored four points (two goals, two assists) in 32 games with Cedar Rapids.
Scouting Indiana: The Ice (25-10-5) have 55 standings points, the second-highest total in the league behind Eastern Conference leader Green Bay (66). ... Forward Daniil Tarasov — a native of Moscow — is second in the league with 54 points (27 goals, 27 assists). He already has 21 multi-point games. ... Jon Gillies leads all goalies with 22 wins and a .921 save percentage. The 6-foot-5 Gillies also is fourth in the USHL with a 2.56 goals-against average.
