One man was killed and five others injured Friday in a two-vehicle crash at Highway 77 and Davey Road in Lancaster County.
Christopher J. Fayes, 46, of Ceresco died at the scene, the Nebraska State Patrol said.
The crash occurred shortly after 3 p.m. north of Lincoln and shut down the northbound lanes of Highway 77 for several hours.
Troopers said Fayes was eastbound on Davey Road in a 1999 Ford vehicle when he failed to stop at a stop sign.
The car entered the southbound lanes of Highway 77, colliding with a 2009 Honda CRV.
Candido Morales, 46, of Schuyler was the Honda driver. He and four passengers were injured: Sandra Morales, 37, of Schuyler, and the couple's three boys, ages 12, 7 and 5.
All were taken to BryanLGH West Medical Center in Lincoln.
The children were admitted with critical but non-life threatening injuries, said Deb Collins, a State Patrol spokeswoman. Their parents suffered serious injuries.
