Pit bull attack injures two

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — A woman and teenager in northwest Iowa were hospitalized after the woman's pit bull attacked them.

Both victims suffered bite wounds Friday afternoon. Sioux City police said the woman put the dog in a garage shortly after 3 p.m., after it became excited by two men who were making a delivery.

Police say the dog attacked the woman and bit her face when she attempted to go into the garage. A 19-year-old who was helping with the delivery was bitten on the arm when he attempted to pull the dog away.

Both the woman and teenager were taken to Mercy Medical Center Sioux City with non-life threatening injuries. Animal control workers took the dog into custody.
