Lincoln shootings may be related

LINCOLN, Neb. — Lincoln police are investigating a double shooting and another gun-related incident that may be related.

Lincoln Police Capt. Joe Wright says two residents were shot at a home at 17th and Knox streets shortly after midnight Saturday. An unidentified male reportedly knocked on the door, and shot one person in the stomach when he answered. The shooter then reportedly shot five more rounds into the home's living room, striking a second resident in the leg.

Both victims were taken to a Lincoln hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Residents near Second and D streets also reported shots fired around 11 p.m. Friday, but no one was hurt. Police say the incidents may be related.
