Fire officials were investigating the cause of a Sunday blaze that destroyed a vacant house at 1637 Ogden St.

Investigators had trouble getting into the what was left of the heavily damaged house to determine the cause, said Battalion Chief Bernie Kanger of the Omaha Fire Department.

The fire was reported at 5:36 p.m. The house was engulfed in flames, with part of the roof collapsing, when firefighters arrived. They reported the blaze under control after about 45 minutes.
