Man pleads guilty in threat case

SIDNEY, Neb. (AP) — A western Nebraska man has pleaded guilty to threatening his wife with a loaded gun during an argument about whether he should buy another gun.

Mark Allsman, 37, of Sidney, pleaded guilty last week to making terroristic threats and using a weapon to commit a felony. He is scheduled to be sentenced April 4.

Court documents say Allsman threatened his wife during an argument Nov. 14. Allsman pointed the gun at his wife when she said he didn't need to buy another gun.

Cheyenne County prosecutors say Allsman owned at least six handguns, two rifles and two shotguns. Allsman also was previously convicted of felony theft in Lancaster County in 2005, so state law prohibits him from owning any guns.
