Workshop will help train entrepreneurs
Anyone interested in starting a business in Nebraska can register for a one-day workshop in Hartington, Neb.
The workshop, "How to Start and Grow Your Business," is sponsored by Northeast Community College, the Hartington Community Development Corp. and SCORE.
It will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Hartington Public Library, 106 S. Broadway. The cost of the workshop, which includes lunch, handouts and a noncredit certificate of completion from Northeast, is $19.

Banquet celebrates Black History Month
The Hastings (Neb.) African American Awareness Committee will present the 15th annual Black History Banquet at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Adams County Fairgrounds.
Brig. Gen. Randolph M. Scott will give a documentary presentation on the Tuskegee Airmen, "Red Tails."

Nepal and its culture focus of UNK event
Mahabir Pun will speak at the Journey to the Top of the World Nepali cultural night Sunday at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
Pun is a UNK graduate and winner of the 2007 Magsaysay Award, considered the Asian equivalent of the Nobel Prize. In 1997 Pun set a goal to get Internet connection in his village in Nepal. He started an organization called Nepal Wireless, which now supplies the Internet to more than 30 villages in Nepal.
In addition to Pun's presentation, authentic Nepali dishes will be served and students will perform at the free event, which will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Nebraskan Student Union Office of Multicultural Affairs.
