Judge to rule in murder-arson trial

WATERLOO — The fate of a Waterloo man accused of killing a woman and setting her house on fire is now in the hands of a judge.

Glen Jackson, 51, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 57-year-old Sandra Jo Nash in January 2011. He's also charged with setting fire to the house where they lived.

An autopsy showed Nash died of head injuries before the fire was set.

Jackson waived his right to a jury trial earlier this month, and on Tuesday, the case was submitted to a judge, who will issue a verdict later. — AP
