Kindergarten registration to begin in Bellevue schools

Bellevue Public Schools will have registration the week of Feb. 27 for children entering kindergarten during the 2012-13 school year.

Bellevue offers full-day kindergarten for all students. Children must reach their fifth birthday on or before July 31 to attend kindergarten.

The registration process will include time to visit with staff and become acquainted with the school. Children are encouraged to attend.

Families unable to attend during the scheduled times may contact the school to arrange another time.

Monday, Feb. 27, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Tuesday, Feb. 28, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Avery, 2107 Avery Road

Belleaire, 1200 W. Mission Ave.

Twin Ridge, 1400 Sunbury Drive

Wednesday, Feb. 29, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Parents will need to bring their child's birth certificate and immunization records. Students will need to have a physical and eye exam before the start of school. Parents can download forms from the school district website and fill them out before they arrive. Go to bellevuepublicschools.org and click on "Kindergarten Registration." Bellevue also offers a tuition-free summer school program at all of its elementary schools for children entering kindergarten. The three-week program provides children the opportunity to become acquainted with their school, programs, computers and the library.
