A 26-year-old Omaha woman was taken to the Creighton University Medical Center in serious condition early Sunday after she was found near 35th and Leavenworth Streets suffering from a gunshot wound.
Shaunte M. Boston told police she was driving west on Leavenworth Street shortly before 3 a.m. when another car pulled alongside and someone started shooting a gun. Officer Jacob Bettin, a police spokesman, said officers learned that an occupant of the vehicle fled before investigators arrived.
A hospital spokesman said no information about Boston's condition is being released. Bettin said Boston's wound didn't appear to be life-threatening.
