Lot 2 to open in Benson
Benson's newest restaurant is set to open Monday.
Lot 2 owners Brad and Johanna Marr said they had some construction setbacks, but the work now is done. The menu will feature "refined American" cuisine. The restaurant will serve its first Sunday brunch on March 11.

Award winners team up
Omaha's two James Beard Award semifinalists — chefs Clayton Chapman and Paul Kulik — are collaborating for a two-part traveling dinner.
The first part will take place at the Grey Plume, Chapman's place, on March 14, and will include four or more courses paired with wines. Then, in late summer, a second collaborative meal will take place at the Boiler Room, Kulik's restaurant. The date for that one is not yet set.

Pitch wine to be sold at Brix
Pitch and Brix are teaming in the name of wine.
This Friday, Brix will start selling the new Pitch house wine, Pitch Black.
The wine, a blend of Syrah, Petite Syrah, Tempranillo and Zinfandel, will sell at Brix for $24.99 a bottle with a special introductory price of $19.99.
The partnership kicks off tonight at a Pitch Black sampling event from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Brix retail store, in Village Pointe off 168th and West Dodge Road. Pitch owner Willy Theisen and Brix owner Dan Matuszek will host the free event.
Pitch Black is also available at Pitch in Dundee for $8 a glass.
Nominate your favorite burger
The Nebraska Beef Council is looking for the state's best burger.
The second annual "Nebraska's Best Burger" contest is accepting nominations through March 31.
People can nominate their favorite burger at www.nebeef.org.
Last year, the top prize went to the Western Burger, served at the Cellar Bar and Grill in Kearney. This year's winner will be announced in April.
Tequila dinner at Cantina
Cantina Laredo is playing host to an Ides of March tequila dinner.
The dinner will feature Patron Tequila cocktails paired with three courses of Mexican food, including tamales with mango mole or venison chili, grilled veal chops or sea bass and churros with raspberry chocolate sauce.
