Starting today, the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge will be closed while crews refurbish lighting atop the pathway's pylons.
The bridge will remain open at night and during the weekends, Mayor Jim Suttle's office said, but crews will work on the bridge for up to 10 hours a day on weekdays. No one will be allowed on the bridge when workers are present.
The bridge is expected to reopen on a full-time basis around Thanksgiving.
Earlier this month, City Council members approved paying $309,481 to Omaha Electric Service for repairs to the LED lights at the top of the bridge.— Juan Perez Jr.
