LINCOLN — As expected, Nebraska signed 6-foot-6 Nick Fuller of Sun Prairie, Wis., and 6-5 Nathan Hawkins of Garland, Texas, to national letters of intent on Wednesday.
Paperwork from a third oral commitment — 6-1 guard Tai Webster of New Zealand — isn't expected until he makes his official visit to Lincoln in early December.
Fuller picked Nebraska over Minnesota, Colorado, Creighton and Marquette. He averaged 23.5 points and 8.2 rebounds last season and is a consensus three-star recruit among national recruiting services.
“There are a lot of things to like about Nick,” NU coach Tim Miles said. “He has great shooting ability and deep range, plus he gives us a lot of size on the perimeter.”
Hawkins chose the Huskers over Kansas State, UTEP, Oklahoma State and SMU. He averaged 12.9 points and 5.0 rebounds. Like Fuller, he is a consensus three-star recruit.
Said Miles: “He is someone who consistently makes winning plays on both ends of the court and understands how to make his teammates better.”
