LUBBOCK, Texas — The University of Nebraska at Omaha men's basketball team trailed Texas Tech by six at halftime. But the margin grew from there, and the Mavericks fell 91-63 Wednesday night at United Spirit Arena.
Texas Tech (2-0) had three players with double-figure scoring, led by Jaye Crockett's double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds.
Junior guard Justin Simmons led UNO (1-2) with 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting, while junior center John Karhoff added 11 points, four rebounds, two assists and a steal.
The Red Raiders led at halftime 43-37, but opened the second half on a 14-6 run. They later added runs of eight and 12 points to make the margin insurmountable.
UNO shot 46.4 percent to Texas Tech's 45.5 percent, but the Red Raiders outrebounded the Mavericks 48-27 and forced 17 turnovers while committing just eight.
