Omaha Hospital corpsman 3rd class, U.S. Navy
Served with 1st Marine Division in Chu Lai and Da Nang in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969.
Memory: “Assigned as field medic to 1st Marine Division, 9th Engineer Battalion out of Chu Lai. Assigned to Delta Company as they searched for land mines and booby traps. One of the good and rewarding aspects was stopping in villages and giving first aid to children. They could never get any kind of medical help, except from Americans. They were really appreciative, and that always made the day worthwhile.”
